Oster 4207 Electric Wine-Bottle Opener

Received this as a gift and it was the best thing I ever got! We have two homes so I immediately had to get one for our other house and have also since given this as a gift. My friends loved it and then said "we have to get another one for our boat, this is the best thing we ever got," so if you are a wine drinker or you entertain this is a must have!

So Easy, Even A Caveman Can Use It

Oster Battery Operated Wine Opener

If you love wine, you will totally love this gift. When I received this gift for Christmas, I thought it looked cool, but honestly was skeptic as to how well it would really work. But, once I tried it, I quickly found how easy it is to use! I thought the rabbit ears corkscrew opener was really great, but it doesn't even compare to the Oster 4207. I've even demonstrated it at parties to everyone's amazement. It makes you want to keep uncorking more bottles of wine because it's also fun to use. In seconds you have wine ready to pour (as well as an un thrashed cork - every time!) Another plus, you don't have to look for it when you need it, because it conveniently sits on the counter in its compact charger without taking up space. When it's in the charger, the dome light on top shines red.

It's slick, ergonomic, modern, a cool conversation piece, very portable and ready to grab and bring to any dinner or party. And, seriously, I can't believe how low the price is! I thought it would cost a lot more. So, I'm buying a bunch as gifts to friends and family who also love wine. (The best gifts to give are the ones you would love to receive yourself.) I'm surprised I don't see this used in restaurants, yet. It really is impressive! There's only one thing wrong with the Oster 4207. There should be a WARNING label on it: "Product may cause addiction to bottle opening."

Excellent Opener Requires Very Little Effort To Use

Easy Wine Opener

I received this opener as a gift and at first I scoffed at the idea. It honestly seemed kind of lame, but after using it a couple times I quickly changed my tune. It is effortless to use (really - those people that have complaints or experience damage might be using too much force). After the friend who gave this to me saw it in action, she ended up getting one herself along with a few others to give as more gifts. This thing is so great, I even bought another one to use at a winery I work at part-time. The entire staff there loves it, and it's been in regular, industry-level use for nearly a year with no sign of wearing out. Even the patrons at the wine bar marvel at this great device.

Unfortunately, I dropped mine. I didn't expect it to work at all after that, but it actually does (which is why I still rate it 5 stars), although the contacts for the switch are a little off now. This is just an annoyance - one which might eventually make me want to replace it. Now for a suggestion to those who break their units. Even the video review seems to be using this incorrectly. Only a very small amount of downward force is required when you start using it. Once you feel the screw catch onto the cork, stop giving all downward force and let the device to all the work by itself. It will extract the cork without you pressing down, and then you can eject the cork automatically. If you apply too much downward force, you're actually causing the device to work harder than it needs to, and could potentially damage it.
