This was a surprise gift. Opening a bottle of wine could not get any easier. I don't know why this opener wasn't available sooner, it is such a great standing gadget. Anyone who enjoys wine should have one of these wonderful gadgets in their household. It is really unbelievable how it so easily removes the cork from the bottle with just a push of a button and then with the reverse button releases the cork. Almost like using an electric screwdriver.

We have been using our auto Oster 4207 for more than a year. Still works great. It has opened everything and lots of them. It has come close to stalling on some super hard plastic corks so I use a manual puller sometimes on those just-in-case to protect my Oster. It charges quickly on the charging stand but the one drawback is that if you have to keep the stand plugged in to have it ready when you need it. It loses charge after a week or two if unplugged. Because of this we bought the $120 Peugeot Electric Wine bottle opener (currently only at Williams Sonoma) that doesn't need a charging stand. I thought this would mean I could plug it in and run it at full power even if it was low on charge... GONG.. nope the Peugot still needs to have a full charge and it has half the torque of the Oster even though you could buy FIVE Osters for that price.

We tried them both on the same bottles. The Peugot couldn't even pull out corks that Oster pulled and we had re-inserted. The Oster has pulled every cork we have tried. The Peugeot stalled more than half the time and then you have to work for half an hour to get it out of the bottle. We have purchased at least 8 Osters for gifts. All our friends are winos too. You can't go wrong for twenty bucks.

My girlfriend loves her daily glass of wine, but having suffered a stroke that left her with use of only one arm, some simple daily tasks became almost impossible, i.e. opening a bottle of her favorite wine. The Oster 4207 Electric Wine Opener was virtually a godsend! She can operate the opener with just one hand and effortlessly remove the cork. No more struggling with manual openers! The product worked perfectly right out of the box (after the initial charge period) and has performed flawlessly in the months we have used it.

Highly recommended for people with handicaps or just for everyday use by people who want an easy option for the bulky manual openers. This is the greatest invention of all time. We indulge in a nice glass of wine almost daily and are totally in love with our electric corkscrew. If the house were burning down this is what we would dash back in through the flames to save.
